Together they are responsible for service profile and routine information. AUC verifies authenticity of the subscriber and provides the HLR with ciphering information for mobile transportation. VLR is usually combined with MSC and called MSC/VLR, provides location information to the servicing MSC. This is a database of all roaming MS in a particular MSC, and database is updated as soon as a mobile set leaves the MSC. The HLR is notified of where the MS is, so that all the calls to that particular MS are re-routed correctly. This does not mean VLR cannot control call setup by itself, it has all the needed information and it acts like a moving HLR. EIR is a database that stores the identity of each MS. Power is fed into the circuit through the mains and is step-down to 12v which is the required voltage for the circuit. This is rectified using device and also filtered with the aid of a filtering capacitor. The essence of this is to convert the AC voltage from the mains to DC voltage because the micro-controller is powered by a DC source. The micro-controller requires just 5v to power, so the 12v is attempted using resistors (potential divider). Voltage Transformer This is used in measuring the voltage flowing through the appliance and is rectified using half-wave rectification and also filtered using a capacitor. The input impedance from the analogue signal must not be higher than 2km, the buffer amplifier is used to achieve this purpose. Performance of the Model The model built was tested by connecting four appliances whose sum total of power consumption was not more than 200w. The system worked perfectly well. Also we set the range of power consumption to 150w, this indicates that whenever appliances are connected to it and their sum total power consumption is more than 150w, then the user turns off any of the appliances or the system automatically turns it off or on. Conclusion and Recommendations From the design and the implementation of the system presented in this document, it can be concluded that GSM system could solve many of the challenges most developing countries are facing particularly the problem of misuse of power supply. Because of the flexibility and ease of the system design, GSM system could be adapted for any application ranging from control of appliances to monitoring remotely. Also, the high level of security of the GSM network is an advantage for securing data transmission; therefore this system should be implemented without fear of eavesdroppers for future this system can solve many technological challenges, for example a company manager could use his GSM set anywhere in the world and log data to his system allowing him to monitor power consumption in semi-real time to reduce cost. The system could be used in manufacturing industry, for example to monitor the consumption of power used by each equipment used for production thereby useful for cost benefit measurement. There are number of applications that could be developed with the system, and for further security measures, the system could be developed such that it connects to severance cameras, allowing the user to visually see his assets at anytime, anywhere. Also, it would be nice to develop the system such that it can convert the message into voice so as to accommodate blind users. With the introduction of pre-paid meter billing system to consumers, their power consumption have changed and have increased tremendously. The billing system have became outrageous so there has been an issue of how to manage power by a household in order to be able to consume a specific amount of power so that bills will be strictly based on the amount of power consumed. Limitation This design is only implemented for a home that does not consume more than 200w of power. This single BSC is responsible for handover, radio link control and power control for transmission. ‘The network subsystem is the core of the GSM system. It controls mobility, switching and management of the subscriber. It consist of switching centre (MSC), Visitor Location Register (VLR), Home Location Register (HLR),Authentication Centre (AUC), and Equipment Identity Register (EIR). One MSC is communicating with number of BSCs, and therefore it is used for call setup, routing and handover between the two subsystems. Also for billing purposes MSC is in control’. (Siegmund, M. R. Yellow Wallpaper And Cast Of Amontillado The short story, ? The Yellow Wallpaper?, written by Charlotte Gilman, and ?The Cast of Amontillado? written by Edgar Allan Poe, are stories in which the plots are very different, but share similar qualities with the elements in the story. ?The Cast of Amontillado? is a powerful tale of revenge, in which the narrator of the tale pledges revenge upon Fortunato for an insult. ?The Yellow Wallpaper? is a story about a woman, her psychological difficulties and her husband's therapeutic treatment of her illness. She struggles over her illness, and battle's her controlling husband. The settings in both stories are very important, they influence the characters, and help with the development of the plot. In ?The Yellow Wallpaper? the setting helps define the action as well as to explain characters behaviors. The setting is which the story takes place is in the narrators room, where she is severally ill, and she is ?locked up? in the room which served as her cage. The room in which the narrator is caged in is a nursery, ?it is a big, airy room, the whole floor nearly, with windows that look all ways. The paint and paper look as if a boys' school had used it.? The narrator describes the color of the walls as repellent, almost revolting, it is an unclear yellow with a dull orange. The condition that the narrator is in, the repulsiveness of the room, and the room haunting her, drives her into insanity. ?The Cast of Amontillado? takes place in an appropriate setting, not only is the setting underground, but also in the blackness of the night. The story begins around dusk, one evening during the carnival season in a European city. The location quickly changes from the activities of the festival, to the damp, dark catacombs under the commons. With the setting being so dramatic, irony plays an important role in the story. Irony occurs when the reader becomes painfully aware of what will become of Fortunato, even though he continues his descent into the catacombs in pursuit of the wine. Poe also adds to this effect, by calling the man Fortunato, who is anything but fortunate, and has him dressed in a clown's costume, which portrays him as a fool. While the settings in the two stories are very different, the different settings create the elements to the stories. The narrator in ?The Yellow Wallpaper? becomes haunted by the wallpaper in her room. The setting takes place in the room, she dislikes the room from the moment she sees it and fells suffocated by it. Her feeling of suffocation and being haunted by the wallpaper helps the reader become more aware of her motivation for tearing the wallpaper down. In ?The Cast of Amontillado,? the setting creates a different effect. In ?The Yellow Wallpaper,? the setting helps create the story, and sets the actions of the plot. In Poe's story he uses the setting different then Gilman. He uses the setting to create suspense and to give the reader a sense of how the characters are felling walking through the catacombs looking for the wine. The dark, damp basement magnifies the tension and uncertainty of the actions in the story. While the two stories are very different, the settings play a major role in both stories, without the setting, both stories would have less style and theme. In ?The Cast of Amontillado? the theme of Poes writing ties in perfectly with the setting. It is important for Montresor to have his victim know what is happening to him. He will cease pleasure from the fact, that while Fortunato slowly dies in the wall, he thinks about his rejected opportunities and his unbearable regret. As he sobers with terror, the final blow will come from the realization that his life is ending in his catacombs dying with his finest wine. The catacombs, in which he dies, set the theme, and relate well with the story. Without the yellow wallpaper in the short story, the significance of the wallpaper would not mater, nor would it set the theme or plot. At night the wallpaper becomes bars, and the wallpaper lets her see herself as a women and her desire to free herself. She needs to free herself from the difficulties of her husband, and from her sickness. The settings in both, set up the elements of the stories and ads to the effect in both of the short stories. The following report will explain the history and purpose of geometry in our lives. ‘Geometry’ means ‘measure of the earth’. In ancient Egypt, the Nile would flood its banks each year, flooding the land and destroying the farm areas. When the waters receded and the people had to redefine the boundaries. An ancient Greek mathematician, named Euclidean, was the founder of the study of geometry. Euclid’s Elements is the basis for modern school textbooks in geometry. On the other hand, there is non-Euclidean geometry. This refers to the types of geometry which deny Euclid’s postulate about parallel lines.

Harmful Effects of Tobacco Speech Today, I have a question for all of you â€Å"Would you mix rat poison, tar, lighter fuel, some radioactive gas some pesticide and drink all of that stuff at once?†, Your answer would probably be no because it’s obvious that all of this stuff is toxic and would result in sudden death. This is all of the stuff that cigarette smoke contains, so just wonder how harmful would cigarettes actually be. I’ll be telling you about the harmful effects of tobacco amp; the great harm caused by the second-hand smoke that is emitted from smoking it. This 45,000 is greater than deaths from AIDS, car accidents and murders combined. Also, about 600,000 people die every yea r around the world from breathing in second-hand smoke. These are people who don’t even smoke, so give it a thought, how dangerous would smoking be for the smokers. Youth and children who stay around people who smoke are 2 times more likely to take up smoking as they get older, so try to stay away from people who smoke if you don’t want to harm yourself. I know you all might be thinking that all of these videos make a big deal out of smoking, and it’s not such a big deal after all, but that’s not true, smoking causes great harm to us and the people around us.
